En vidéographie, la chrominance désigne la partie du signal correspondant à l’information de couleur, alors que la luminance en désigne la portion lumineuse. En filiation avec ma production vidéo, cette série photographique interroge la matérialité autant que l’immatérialité de l’image numérique. Sur chaque image, un échantillon, telle une ligne d’horizon fictive, est prélevé et magnifié pour en extraire une matrice de pixels composant une onde lumineuse et colorée, révélant un paysage abstrait, matière à réflexion sur la nature concomitante de l’image électronique et de la composition picturale. Ainsi, étirer le temps par le ralenti en vidéo, étendre de la peinture ou étirer les pixels d’une photo numérique me semblent toutes trois être des opérations qui ont en commun de révéler ce qui se cache dans la trame d’un instant.

In videography, the chrominance designates the part of the signal corresponding to the color information, while the luminance designates the luminous portion. In filiation with my video production, this photographic series questions the materiality as much as the immateriality of the digital image. On each image, a sample such as a fictitious horizon line is taken and magnified to extract a matrix of pixels composing a light and colored wave, revealing an abstract landscape, a reflection on the concomitant nature of electronic image and pictorial composition. Thus, slowing the frame rate of a video, spilling painting or stretching the pixels of a digital photo all seem to me to be operations that have in common to reveal what is hidden in the frame of a moment.
